Let wisdom flow like a brook
Proverbs 18:4 The Passion Translation
“Words of wisdom are like a fresh, flowing brook—
like deep waters that spring forth from within,
bubbling up inside the one with understanding.”
Wisdom is so important in our everyday lives. We make decisions all throughout the day. Without wisdom, we keep making the same mistakes over and over again. Wisdom added to the facts we have gathered about any subject completes the understanding of it.
God grants us wisdom freely through the Holy Spirit any time we need it. I have been a wisdom seeker for many years. I made so many mistakes due to a lack of wisdom and understanding about a lot of life’s issues. After the Lord started releasing wisdom to me, the mistakes grew less and less. Do I still make mistakes? Of course, I do, they have gotten less and less because I stop and ask for wisdom when I need it instead of going ahead without thought and falling on my face.
Pray for wisdom for your own needs today. The Lord God gladly releases it to you. One of my favorite verses in the Bible is James 1:5-8. May it bless you today.
James 1:5-8 The Passion Translation
5″ And if anyone longs to be wise, ask God for wisdom and he will give it! He won’t see your lack of wisdom as an opportunity to scold you over your failures but he will overwhelm your failures with his generous grace. 6 Just make sure you ask empowered by confident faith without doubting that you will receive. For the ambivalent person believes one minute and doubts the next. Being undecided makes you become like the rough seas driven and tossed by the wind. You’re up one minute and tossed down the next. 7–8 When you are half-hearted and wavering it leaves you unstable. Can you really expect to receive anything from the Lord when you’re in that condition?”
