Living a righteous life helps us grow up!

Psalm 1  (TPT)  The Tree of Life

“1 What delight comes to the one who follows God’s ways!
He won’t walk in step with the wicked,
nor share the sinner’s way,
nor be found sitting in the scorner’s seat.
His pleasure and passion is remaining true to the Word of “I Am,”
meditating day and night in the true revelation of light.
He will be standing firm like a flourishing tree
planted by God’s design,
deeply rooted by the brooks of bliss,
bearing fruit in every season of his life.
He is never dry, never fainting,
ever blessed, ever prosperous.
But how different are the wicked.
All they are is dust in the wind—
driven away to destruction!
The wicked will not endure the day of judgment,
for God will not defend them.
Nothing they do will succeed or endure for long,
for they have no part with those who walk in truth.
But how different it is for the righteous!
The Lord embraces their paths as they move forward
while the way of the wicked leads only to doom.”

The choices we make in life, even from a young age, cause our paths before us.  When we choose goodness over evil, we reap a goodly reward.  When we choose to do evil over goodness, we reap an evil person’s reward.  It really is that simple.  I realize we are sometimes victims of other people’s choices, yet how we react to that treatment, determines how we will be treated in the future.

Galatians 6:7-10 TPT

“7 Make no mistake about it, God will never be mocked! For what you plant will always be the very thing you harvest. The harvest you reap reveals the seed that was planted. If you plant the corrupt seeds of self – life into this natural realm, you can expect to experience a harvest of corruption. If you plant the good seeds of Spirit-life you will reap the beautiful fruits that grow from the everlasting life of the Spirit.

And don’t allow yourselves to be weary or disheartened in planting good seeds, for the season of reaping the wonderful harvest you’ve planted is coming! 10 Take advantage of every opportunity to be a blessing to others, especially to our brothers and sisters in the family of faith!”

Every time we choose the good over the evil, our ground produces good.  The more we overcome the natural tendencies to retaliate and seek revenge, the more our ground starts producing good crops for us to eat.

May we all choose to be like God, our Father, who loves all men, and rains on both the “just and the unjust”.
