Couple in back yard

Matthew 18:19,20

“Again I say to you, that if two of you shall agree on the earth concerning any matter, whatsoever it may be that they shall ask, it shall come to them from my Father who is in the heavens.   For where two or three are gathered together unto my name, there am I in the midst of them. “

We see in this Scripture the following details:

  • It is Jesus speaking
  • He is speaking to the disciples
  • The two people praying, must be in agreement about what is being asked for.
  • The prayer will be answered by God the Father.
  • Lastly, where 2 or 3 people are gathered in Jesus’ Name, He is there too.

If we choose to meet together in Jesus’ Name, it is an open invitation for Him to join us.  He is there, through the Holy Spirit, involved in meeting and listening to our prayers.

When two people stand together in agreement over any request, asked in the Name of Jesus, the Father God will answer it.  Some people would take this Scripture and try to use it to harm another person, to win the lottery, or other greed-filled action.  Therefore, a couple of words of caution is needed.  God only answers prayers that agree with His Word.  These prayers also have to be faith-filled.  Also, these two people must be seeing the same end result to be in agreement. Having a thorough conversation before praying can make the prayer be able to line up with Biblical principles.

By knowing the Word of God and having a relationship we find out what is truly opened to us for prayers of agreement.

Does God want us healed?

Will God help us succeed in life?

Does God want our relationships to be restored?

Yes!  Get a good concordance and look up the Scriptures that cover your personal need, then use them to agree together.  Your united faith will release the power and authority of God over the request.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

“Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.   For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.  Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone?  And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken. “
